Plea: Stephen Lynch

A Carrickfergus man has admitted leaving a burning car outside a house during a feud in Larne last year.

The trial of Stephen Paul Lynch (35), from Cairn Road, was due to get under way at Antrim Crown Court yesterday. However Lynch was re-arraigned and pleaded guilty to causing criminal damage, endangering life and attempting to obstruct police. The judge described the circumstances in which the torched car was left outside the property on Killyglen Road in April 2017 as "quite disturbing".

Three other charges, including intimidation and threats to kill, were left on the books. Lynch was released on continuing bail, to be sentenced next month.
