Man 'punched in back of head' during Belfast assault

A man in his 40s sustained head and facial injuries after being punched in the back of the head during an assault in Belfast.

The incident happened in the Donegall Road area at around 6pm on Friday. The assault was reported to police at 12.20pm on Saturday.

Sergeant Guy Larkin said: "It was reported the victim, aged in his forties, was punched on the back of the head and fell to the ground. He sustained head and facial injuries and was treated at hospital for his injuries.

"I would appeal to anyone who was in the area and saw what happened, or who has information which could our investigation to get in touch on 101, quoting reference number 879 13/07/19."
