Man punched in the face and threatened with knife at north Belfast flat

A man has been punched in the face and threatened with a knife at a flat in north Belfast.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following an aggravated burglary at a flat in the Mount Vernon area last night.

At around 7.45pm it was reported that three men forced their way into a flat in Ross House.

They threatened the 23-year-old male resident with a knife before punching him in the face.

During the incident a sister of the occupant called at the address and was forced into the bedroom of the property by the men.

She was not injured during the incident.

The men are described as being aged in their 30s with local accents. All three were wearing hooded tops.

Detective Inspector Peter Mullan is appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information that can assist with the investigation to contact Detectives at Musgrave Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.
