Man recovering in hospital after fight in Belfast

Police have said a man is recovering in hospital with non life threatening injuries following an attack in Belfast.

Police said a fight broke out in the Ballymurphy area of west Belfast on Friday at around 7pm.

It is thought the man was attacked by hammers and seriously injured when he was set upon by two others close to shops in the area.

Police on Saturday morning said a 24-year-old is recovering in hospital following the incident.

Police are investigating and have appealed for anyone with information to contact officers.
