A 63-year-old man arrested in connection with the murder of Jim Donegan has been released unconditionally.

The man was detained in Belfast on Monday morning under the Terrorism Act and taken to Musgrave Police Station for questioning.

Under the Terrorism Act a suspect must either be charged, released unconditionally or reported to the Public Prosecution Service - bail is not permitted.

Jim Donegan (43) was shot dead from point-blank range as he waited to collect his 13-year-old son from St Mary's Christian Brothers Grammar School in west Belfast in December.

Detectives said the killer had been waiting for his victim at the scene five days earlier, but Mr Donegan did not pick up his son that day.
