Man released in PSNI vehicle contracts probe
Detectives have arrested a member of police staff as part of a probe into the awarding of PSNI vehicle contracts.
The 54-year-old was questioned yesterday on suspicion of misconduct in public office and later released pending a report to the PPS. So far police have arrested eight people as part of its investigation.
They include Duncan McCausland, a former Assistant Chief Constable, a PSNI officer and a member of police staff. Mr McCausland — who strenuously denies any wrong-doing — was arrested in June and questioned for three days.
Detectives are also preparing a file on a 49-year-old man following inquiries into bribery and misconduct in public office which were initiated by the PSNI investigation.
