Man rescued from River Lagan - air ambulance sent to scene in south Belfast

A man has been rescued after entering the River Lagan near the Ormeau Embankment in Belfast.

The Northern Ireland Ambulance service received a call from the PSNI requesting assistance for a man that had been rescued from the water on Monday afternoon.

The Ormeau Embankment has now been reopened following the incident.

Two rapid response vehicle paramedics and one emergency ambulance crew are in attendance.

The Air Ambulance is also at the scene.
