A man has been taken to hospital after being shot in both arms and legs.
The shooting took place outside the Holy Trinity Youth Club in Norglen Gardens in Turf Lodge, west Belfast, at around 7pm on Wednesday.
The man's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
West Belfast SDLP councillor Tim Attwood condemned the shooting.
“This is a shocking incident. For a man to be shot in the arms and legs outside a youth club, with the potential of having young people as witnesses to such a traumatic event, to say nothing of the injury and trauma perpetrated on the victim is horrifying.
“There can be no justification for such a savage attack.
“I would urge any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact the police so those responsible can be brought to justice.”
Police are appealing for anyone with any information about the incident to contact CID in Grosvenor Road on 0845 600 8000.
