Man shot in paramilitary style shooting in Londonderry

A man has been shot in a paramilitary style shooting in Londonderry on Saturday.

At around 11.40pm the 42-year-old man was shot in the left leg by a masked man in the Corrib Court area of the city.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to his injury which is not believed to be life threatening.

The gunman is described as being approximately 6ft tall, wearing a balaclava and dark clothing.

Police appeal to anyone that noticed any suspicious activity in the area around 11pm to contact CID in Strand Road Police Station on the non emergency number 101.
