Man stabbed in Hatfield Street area of south Belfast

A man in his 20s has been taken to hospital after being stabbed in the Hatfield Street area of south Belfast.

Police are investigating the assault which took place at about 7.45am on Saturday morning.

The was treated in hospital for the stab wound. His condition is not thought to be life-threatening at this time.

Detective Sergeant Moffett said: "Three men in their 20s have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. They are currently in custody, helping with our enquiries.

"We are appealing for anyone with information to contact police on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 318 of 10/6/17.

"Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111."
