Man suffers burns to hand as he extinguishes fire after east Belfast arson attack

A man has suffered burns to his hand as he extinguished a fire following an arson attack on a house in east Belfast.

At around 4am on Wednesday 20 April,  a container of flammable liquid was placed outside the front door of the house on My Lady's Road and set alight.

Damage was caused to the front porch as a result.

There were four people in the house at the time.

A male resident suffered burns to his hand extinguishing the fire and received treatment from paramedics at the scene.

A man wearing a dark coloured hooded top and trousers and white trainers was seen in the area at the time.

Chief Inspector David Moore has appealed to anyone with a ny information about this incident to contact officers in Strandtown on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
