Man suffers burns while tackling arson blaze

A man suffered burns to his hand while extinguishing a fire started by arsonists in east Belfast, police said.

A container of flammable liquid was placed outside the front door of the house in My Lady's Road and set alight at around 4am on Wednesday morning. Four adults were in the property at the time.

The front porch was damaged.

A man wearing a dark-coloured hooded top and trousers and white trainers was seen in the area at the time, detectives said.

Chief Inspector David Moore appealed to anyone with any information about the incident to contact officers.
