Man suffers fractured cheekbone following south Belfast assault

A man was seriously assaulted in south Belfast.
A man was seriously assaulted in south Belfast.

A 53-year-old man suffered serious injuries during an assault in the Mount Charles area of south Belfast on Thursday Night.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following the incident which left the man with a suspected fractured cheekbone and a large cut to the head.

The man was taken to hospital for treatment following the attack which took place shortly after 9pm.

Two men were seen running away from the scene in the direction of University Street. One of the males was wearing blue coloured shorts and was not wearing a top.

Detective Sergeant Keith Wilson is appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information that can assist with the investigation to contact detectives in Musgrave Police Station on 101 quoting reference 1533 28/06/18.
