Man suffers injuries to head and face in north Belfast assault

A man has been treated in hospital for injuries to his head and face after an assault in north Belfast.

It happened on the Antrim Road on Tuesday January 6.

At around 5.15pm, a 26-year-old man was walking on the Antrim Road when he was assaulted by an unknown man at the junction of Brucevale.

 He was treated in hospital for injuries to his head and face.

The male is described as being aged in his mid 30s, approximately six foot tall, of medium build, thinning grey hair and wearing a dark coat with a fur lined hood.

Detective Constable Mark Gillespie appealed for anyone who witnessed the assault or anyone with any information to contact CID at Tennent Street Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.
