Man suffers injuries to his face in east Belfast attack

A 58-year-old man has suffered injuries to his face after he was attacked in east Belfast.

The victim was set upon by two men in the Hyndford Street area at around 9pm on Monday.

He was assaulted by the men - before being treated in hospital for facial injuries.

It is believed the attackers may have made off in a blue coloured car.

Police have appealed for anyone with information to them on the new non-emergency number 101.
