A man suffered serious injuries to his face in a gang attack in Belfast.

Police said the 20-year-old was set upon by a large number of people sometime between 5pm and 6pm on Thursday in the North Queen Street area.

An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and is currently in custody assisting police with their enquiries.
