A man accused of murdering his uncle who he shared a cottage with near Rasharkin has had the case sent to the Crown Court.

Marek Marcin Sinko (38), with an address at Townhill Road, is alleged to have murdered labourer Eugeniusz Sinko (53) on a date between October 20 and October 23, 2017.

Marek Sinko was first in court on the murder charge in May last year.

He was charged after a pathology report in 2018 stated that the cause of death was due to "traumatic brain injury".

The defendant appeared at Ballymena Magistrates Court for a preliminary enquiry.

A prosecutor submitted that on the basis of the papers before the court there was a case to answer.
