A drunken motorist punched his mother and tried to push her out of a moving car, it was alleged in the High Court yesterday.
Michael Yeo (22) threatened to kill her in the incident, during which he crashed into another vehicle, prosecutors claimed.
Yeo, of Fitzroy Street in Portadown, Co Armagh, is charged with causing GBH, breaching a non-molestation order, driving with excess alcohol, failing to report, stop or remain at the scene of an accident, dangerous driving and other motoring offences.
Conor Maguire, prosecuting, said Yeo had been seen punching his mother, who needed four stitches for an eye cut, during the alleged incident on April 11.
Mr Maguire added: "She claimed her son struck her around the face and attempted to push her out of the vehicle. She also claimed he threatened to kill her."
Yeo, who was not granted bail, denied attacking and falsely imprisoning his mother and said she suffered her injuries after falling from the car. The case continues.
