A Co Tyrone town is in shock after the body of a man was discovered on a busy main road yesterday.
The man was named locally as Jim Hagan, a Stewartstown resident aged in his 50s.
It is believed the man died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound and his body was found in a van on the Ballynakilly Road.
Police received the report of the incident shortly after 8.30am yesterday. MLA Francie Molloy called Mr Hagan’s death a tragedy. “It’s a tragic situation, even though the details are not all clear yet. It’s a tragedy for his family and our sympathies are with them at this time,” he said.
