A man was left with a broken jaw after he was set upon by a group of three or four men in a racist attack in north Belfast

It happened at the gates to Cave Hill Country Park on the Upper Cavehill Road on Wednesday April 24 at around 8pm.

Police released details of the assault in their appeal for information on Monday.

Police said the man was walking in the area when the group began shouting at him. He went to walk away before the "vicious attack" ensued.

"It is believed these males were in their mid 20s and local due to their accents. Any information in relation to this assault would be greatly appreciated," said police in their appeal for information.
