A 20-year-old man had his legs broken when he was attacked in west Belfast on Tuesday night.

Detectives at Woodbourne are appealing for information about the assault, which happened in Carnanmore Park at about 9.45pm.

The victim sustained two broken legs and serious facial injuries and was treated at a nearby hospital.

His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Witnesses should call detectives at Woodbourne CID on the new non emergency number 101.
