A man in his 30s has been left with fractures to his arms, legs and ankles after being attacked by a gang of four masked men in Ballymoney.

A second man, also aged in his 30s, suffered a laceration to the top of his head.

The incident took place at around 11.25pm. Police received a report that the windows and front door of a house in Carnany Drive had been smashed by four masked men. They attacked the two victims using a crowbar and sledgehammer. One was attacked in an alleyway beside the house and then dragged to a grassed area and further assaulted.

The PSNI has issued a plea for witnesses to come forward.

"We would like to hear from anyone with any information that could assist our investigation," a spokesman said.

"Detectives can be contacted by calling the non-emergency number 101."
