Masked gang tell residents to leave before smashing windows of Carrickfergus house and car

A large group of armed masked men have told the occupants of a house in Carrickfergus to leave the area - before smashing the windows of their house and car.

It happened in the Lennox Avenue area of Carrickfergus on the evening of Monday October 12.

Shortly after 9pm police received a report that a large group of masked men had arrived at the house, some armed with baseball bats.

The occupants, a man and a woman, were told to leave the area and windows on the car and house were smashed.

The men then left the scene in two cars, possibly a silver Renault Clio and a silver Renault Megane.

Superintendent Ryan Henderson has appealed to anyone with any information about this incident to contact police in Larne on 101. Information can also be passed anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
