Masked knifemen raid Ardglass Golf Club

Detectives have appealed for information after two masked men brandishing knives robbed Ardglass Golf Club.

The raid happened at around 10.55am yesterday when the men entered the club in the Castle Place area of the Co Down village.

The pair demanded money before making off in a silver BMW, later recovered in the Ballygilbert Road area.

No staff were injured in the incident, police said. One of the men is described as being of heavy build and was wearing a black top and jacket, dark bottoms and a red hat or scarf.

The second man is described as being tall, of slim build and wearing a black top.

A police spokesman said: "Anyone with information is asked to contact CID in Downpatrick on 0845 600 8000, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
