Men arrested in Derry as part of violent dissidents investigation

A 37-year-old man has been arrested in Londonderry as part of an ongoing investigation into violent dissident republican activity.

He was arrested under the Terrorism Act in the Creggan area of the city on Thursday.

Police conducted a search of a property in the area and have seized a number of items which have been taken away for further examination.

The man is currently being questioned in Musgrave Serious Crime Suite.

In a separate incident police arrested a 52-year-old man under the Terrorism Act in relation to an ongoing investigation into dissident republican acitivty. He was later released unconditionally.

Police searched a property in the Creggan area as part of their investigation.
