Men assaulted by pair armed with baseball bat and wheel brace in Belfast burglary

Two men have been assaulted during a burglary at a flat in Belfast.

It happened in the Connsbrook Avenue area on Thursday evening shortly after 5pm.

Detectives said a man and a woman entered the flat and assaulted the two men inside.

The woman was armed with a baseball bat and the man had what is believed to have been a wheel brace.

They assaulted one of the two men and when the second man tried to intervene he was also assaulted.

Both men were treated at the scene. The man and woman then left the scene.

Detective Sergeant Gardiner would appeal to anyone who has any information about this incident to contact Detectives at Musgrave Criminal Investigation Branch quoting reference 1289 15/02/18.
