Michelle Gildernew stays coy over Sinn Fein MP stance
A Sinn Fein MP has not ruled out taking her seat in Westminster in the future.
Michelle Gildernew said she did not feel the time was right for Sinn Fein to drop its abstentionist policy, but would "never say never".
Ms Gildernew, who won the Fermanagh and South Tyrone seat in 2010 by just four votes, was asked by the Fermanagh Herald if there were any circumstances in which she would take her seat in the House of Commons.
"Well, I never say never, but the time and circumstances are not right now and to be honest I don't feel that the British have any need to involve themselves in Irish politics so why would I feel the need to involve myself in British decisions," she replied.
