Money stolen from ATM machine in west Belfast

A sum of money has been stolen from an ATM machine inside a business premises in west Belfast.

The incident happened on the Grosvenor Road during the early hours of Saturday morning.

Police said that sometime between 2am and 5am entry was gained to a commercial premises.

An ATM machine located within the premises was forced open and a sum of cash stolen from inside. 

A white transit van is believed to have been used by the suspects.

Detective Inspector Harvey appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

“I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information that can assist with the investigation to contact detectives in Musgrave Police Station on 101 quoting reference 631 10/08/18," he said.

"I am particularly interested to hear from anyone who may have seen a white transit van in the area of Grosvenor Road late last night or early this morning.

“Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
