Money taken as woman is distracted by bogus callers

Cash has been stolen in a distraction burglary in Co Down.

The incident occurred at a house at Warren Road, Donaghadee, on Saturday, but details only emerged yesterday.

The PSNI said: "Two men entered the property in The Links area at around 2pm stating they were carrying out work to the building and whilst one distracted the female occupant, the other stole a sum of money from a coat in a bedroom.

"One of the men is described as being in his mid-40s with light-coloured hair, of medium build and was wearing light coloured clothing.

"The second male is described as being in his 50s with dark hair, of slim build and taller than the first male.

"Our enquiries into the incident are ongoing and we are appealing for any witnesses to get in touch with us."
