More than 4,500 jackets stolen from sports shop in east Belfast

More than 4,500 branded jackets have been stolen from a sports shop in east Belfast.

Police are appealing for information following the report of a burglary at commercial premises in the Alanbrooke Park area of Castlereagh.

It happened between 6.30pm on Friday November 13 and 9am on Monday November 16.

Police said 250 cartons containing over 4,500 items of distinctive ‘Target Dry’ branded jackets, including male and female jackets, fleeces and children’s weatherproof suits were stolen.

Chief Inspector David Moore said, “While the police investigation is ongoing, we are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident or suspicious activity in the area over that weekend, particularly of any van or lorry movements in the area, or who may have been offered Target Dry branded clothing in suspicious circumstances, to contact police at Musgrave Station on the non-emergency number 101.

"Or, if you would prefer to provide information without giving your details you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
