Mother and daughter held by masked men as gang rob their home

By Claire Williamson

A mother and daughter have been left badly shaken after they were held by two masked and gloved men while a gang robbed their home in Craigavon.

At 8.45pm on Monday night the woman (40) and her daughter who is in her late teens, were in their home in the Lakelands area of Lurgan.

Two masked and gloved men entered and stayed with them in the living room.

Meanwhile a number of people are believed to have entered and went through the rest of the house for around 10-15minutes. They stole a sum of money and a quantity of jewellery.

They are then believed to have made off on foot by the back of the house.

The women were not injured in the incident but were left badly shaken.

Detective Inspector Will Tate said: "I would ask anyone with any information about this incident to contact CID at Lurgan Police Station on the non emergency number 101.

Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111."
