Motorcyclist (48) killed in Dundrod crash - second biker injured in separate accident

A motorcyclist has been killed after he was involved in a crash in Co Antrim.

The man (48) was involved in a crash on the Quarterland Road in Dundrod on Sunday at 7.15pm.

The man was the rider of a blue Yamaha motorcycle.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone who was travelling on the Quarterland Road and who saw the Yamaha motorcycle prior to the collision to contact local officers in Lisburn or the Collision Investigation Unit on 101 quoting reference 1436 03/06/18.

Meanwhile, a motorcyclist was left with "life-changing" injuries following a serious crash in Draperstown.

The 28-year-old was injured after his bike hit a tree on the Tobermore Road at around 3.30pm on Sunday.

A police spokesman added: "At this time it's believed that the motorcycle was the only vehicle involved. Officers are keen to hear from any witnesses or anyone who was travelling on the road and who may have seen the Yamaha motorcycle at any time prior to the crash.

"Police can be contacted by calling 101, quoting reference number 1129 03/06/18."
