Mr Browne fined £150 for 'taking a dump' outside Northern Ireland shopping centre

A Londonderry man who defecated outside Derry’s largest shopping centre and gave police his brother’s name was fined £150.

Robert Browne of Hollymount Park (24) was fined last week at Derry Magistrate's Court.

Police were called to Foyleside Shopping Centre in May 2010 after Browne defecated outside the Orchard Street entrance to the mall.

He was later stopped on Craigavon Bridge, the Derry Journal, reported when he apologised to police for ‘taking a dump’.

Mr Browne’s solicitor said his client was ‘entirely embarrassed’ by his actions which is why he provided police with the wrong name.
