Mum's agony at theft of late daughter's effects just a week after her funeral

By Rebecca Black

A distraught mother has urged those who pilfered her dead daughter's possessions to give them back.

Thieves targeted the home of Natasha Lowery in Ballynahinch, Co Down, just a week after her funeral.

The 20-year-old took her own life.

Sentimental items, including jewellery, were among the items stolen from the house.

Natasha's mother Michelle said she cannot believe that anyone would stoop so low.

"A gold box containing Natasha's jewellery was missing," she said.

"This has been a hellish, traumatic experience, with the burglary compounding our family's grief.

"Hand on heart, I believe local people broke into my daughter's home.

"Such behaviour is disgraceful and I don't believe it is a coincidence.

"Words really fail me that someone would do this. The sentimental items which were stolen were only of value to me. They are irreplaceable."

Mrs Lowery has appealed for anyone with information about the robbery to contact police.
