Murderer on the run from Maghaberry prison

A Maghaberry prisoner who was serving a life sentence for murder is on the run.

William Sloan, 51, from Dundonald, was temporarily released from the high security jail, but absconded on Friday.

He beat Belfast man James Hamilton to death in 1989 and ransacked his home in Harrow Street, south Belfast.

Sloan is described as 5'10" and of medium build with brown eyes, brown hair. He has a scar on his cheek and tattoos on both arms.
