'My business is booming... it has been a phenomenal year'

Marianne Blaney (30) Enterprise Award Winner

Originally from Nottingham, Marianne moved to Bushmills in 2012 looking for a new start after two difficult years.

The death of her best friend, the loss of her job and a serious car accident left her struggling to cope with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Determined to start her own business, but unsure how, she enrolled in the Prince's Trust Enterprise programme in April last year.

Now she says her vintage fashion business in Coleraine - Daisy Mae Boutique - has "smashed" all her targets.

"I was awarded £7,000 funding - the highest ever approved in Northern Ireland - to open my business in November 2015," she said.

"We had a phenomenal year and smashed all our projections and now I'm here for an award. I never imagined I'd be doing so well. The Prince's Trust were life changing for me. It's pretty overwhelming."
