Nationalists hurl nail bomb in a fourth night of trouble

A blast bomb packed with nails exploded near a seven-year-old child after it was hurled at police lines from a nationalist street in north Belfast yesterday.

It came as trouble flared for a fourth night, with four blast bombs and petrol bombs thrown at police in east Belfast, where at least one plastic bullet was fired by the PSNI in response.

Large crowds of loyalists also blocked roads in Mount Vernon and Woodvale Road.
