Neil Lennon's tribute to tragic boy (5) named after him
Former Northern Ireland international footballer Neil Lennon has paid tribute to a five-year-old boy who was killed in an accident.
Lennon Toland, who was named after the Lurgan man and former Celtic boss, died in a road tragedy in the east end of Glasgow.
The youngster was struck by a van and died in hospital a short time later.
“I am deeply saddened to hear of Lennon’s passing,” the football manager said.
“It’s a tragic story — condolences go to the family.”
An online appeal to help pay for the costs of the boy’s funeral costs has already raised more than £8,000.
