New addition to the team... Kyle Lafferty and wife expecting first baby
Northern Ireland footballer Kyle Lafferty has revealed he is to become a dad.
Kyle and his wife Vanessa took to Twitter to announce the news.
The couple were married in May last year at Gleneagles Hotel in Scotland.
Announcing the news, Lafferty tweeted:"Words can't describe how excited I am to welcome mine and my gorgeous wife's first baby into the world."
Lafferty (30), from Kesh in Co Fermanagh, was the star of Northern Ireland's successful Euro 2016 qualifying campaign.
The former Burnley and Rangers striker signed for Scottish club Hearts last summer and has scored nine league goals so far this season.
Wife Vanessa (nee Chung) is from East Kilbride and is a model. Her sister Melissa is married to former Celtic player Darren O'Dea.
Fans were quick to congratulate Lafferty after he shared the tweet, which also showed an ultrasound snap of their baby.
Dwaine Vance said: "Congratulations Kyle on your recent news. Wishing you and @VLafferty28 all the very best. Hope to catch up soon."
Mo Dickson added: "Congrats big fella. It'll change your lives forever and for the better. Hope all goes well."
Lafferty has played 67 games for Northern Ireland since 2006, scoring 20 times.
