Three new Deputy Lieutenants have been appointed for Belfast by the Lord Lieutenant of the County Borough of Belfast.

Fionnuala Jay-O'Boyle made the appointments of Jane Wells, events and PR director at JComms; former secondary school head teacher Alan Logan and Walter Rader, Northern Ireland representative for the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service, on May 24.

Welcoming the new Deputy Lieutenants yesterday, Mrs Jay-O'Boyle said: "I am very proud to have these new additions to our Belfast team and I know that each has a major contribution to make. "

Deputy Lieutenants are appointed by the Lord Lieutenant to support her and the work of the Belfast Lieutenancy, and when appropriate to act as the personal representatives of Her Majesty The Queen in Belfast.
