No injuries as arsonists use rag to set oil tank alight

An oil tank was torched during an arson attack at a house in Londonderry.

The incident occurred at the property at Bonds Street during the early hours of yesterday.

At around 2.50am a rag was placed on the oil tank and set alight.

A second rag was set on the window of the house and also ignited.

Police and fire crews attended the scene and the blaze was extinguished.

Damage was caused to the oil tank.

A male and female who were in the property at the time were not injured.

Police appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident or who has information that can assist with their investigation to come forward.
