The Northern Ireland Ambulance service has confirmed a crew and patient were hurt in a crash with a lorry.

It happened just after 2.30pm on the Portaferry Road, near Mount Stewart on Tuesday.

One patient was on board the patient care vehicle with two crew members.

Rapid response, a paramedic, three ambulance crews and the air ambulance were sent to the scene.

"Following assessment and treatment at the scene, the crew, their patient and the lorry driver involved in the incident have all been taken to the Ulster Hospital at Dundonald with non-life-threatening injuries," an Ambulance Service spokesman said.
