An investigation is under way after a bus collided with a barrier at a level crossing in Co Antrim yesterday.

The incident occurred near Templepatrick.

Passengers were taken from the bus and transferred to another service. No one was injured, Translink have said.

Photographs showed the bus with the barrier on its roof.

A Translink spokesperson said: "An Airport 300 bus collided with a barrier at Templepatrick level crossing at around 12.45pm today.

"There were no injuries.

"Safety protocols were immediately put in place.

"These included temporary speed restrictions on trains to enable the level crossing to be inspected.

"Police were called and implemented traffic diversions, with the road being declared open for traffic again at approximately 2pm.

"Customers on the bus were safely transferred on to another service.

"Translink has launched an investigation."
