Northern Ireland couple's £1.9m lottery win

By Chris Kilpatrick

A couple from Northern Ireland are celebrating after scooping almost £2m on the lottery.

The pair, from Ballymena, won the life-changing sum of £1.9m on Friday’s EuroMillions draw.

They will be officially unveiled this morning at Galgorm Resort and Spa, just outside Ballymena, where they are expected to reveal what they intend to do with their new-found wealth.

Tongues were wagging throughout the town in recent days as to the identity of the lucky duo but they have decided to keep quiet until officially presented with their cheque today.

Friday’s EuroMillions draw resulted in Britain’s second biggest ever Lottery jackpot.

Music shop owner Adrian Bayford and his wife, healthcare assistant Gillian, scooped £148.6m.
