Northern Ireland forecast for rain as Britain to get heatwave
As Britain prepares for the hottest day of the year this weekend, Northern Ireland is predicted to have no such luck, with rain and cloud forecast.
In eastern England the mercury is expected to hit 30C on Saturday - hotter than Ibiza - while temperatures could reach 27C elsewhere in the country.
Northern Ireland, however, will experience maximum temperatures of 17C and cloudy skies on Saturday.
A Met Office spokesperson said: "Brighter spells best during the morning. Cloud gradually thickening from the southeast bringing patchy light rain to areas south and east of Lough Neagh from the afternoon."
Sunday will also bring rain, which will be heavy at times.
