Political figures from across Northern Ireland have congratulated the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on the birth of their first child.

Speaking on camera at Windsor Castle's Royal Mews on Monday, Prince Harry revealed that Meghan had given birth early on Monday morning, stating it was the “most amazing experience I could ever have possibly imagined”.

DUP leader Arlene Foster tweeted: "Congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on the birth of their little boy. Such a lovely time for a family. We all wish them well during this happy occasion."

Ulster Unionist leader Robin Swann wrote: "Congratulations to the Duchess of Sussex & Prince Harry on the birth of their baby son. P.S. Robin is a nice name."

The as-yet-unnamed baby boy is believed to have been born in the Sussexes' home on the Windsor Estate, Frogmore Cottage.

DUP MP Jeffrey Donaldson tweeted: "Congratulations to the Duke & Duchess of Sussex on the birth of their son!"
