Northern Ireland restaurant offers free dining to the Twittering public

A Northern Ireland restaurant is offering diners the chance to eat out for free throughout June and July - and all you have to do is tweet it.

Bullitt Belfast launched its ‘Tweet Seats’ campaign on Monday as part of its new menu launch in its Taylor & Clay restaurant.

Every Tuesday in June and July, those in need of a lunchtime bite can tweet the 58-seat eaterie and if there is a table going spare you get a meal for free.

Some treats on the new menu include salted beef Caesar salad, flatbread kebab with spiced beef and pomegranate and an apple and blueberry frangipane crumble.

In return each diner will have three courses from the restaurant’s 3-7-3 menu and all they have to do in return is tweet a photo of the food. The new menu offers a starter for £3, main for £7 and dessert for £3.

The idea of the free seats came from a concept developed in the US by theatres looking to open up shows to a wider audience.

Michael Patterson, manager at Bullitt Belfast said: "We are running the Tweet Seats campaign as a fun way to launch our new 3-7-3 menu and to offer people the chance to dine for free in our restaurant.  Taylor & Clay uses fresh produce that has been sourced from local suppliers and the food is cooked on a fire-pit grill to give it a unique flavour, so the winners really will be in for a delicious treat.”

To get a free seat at the restaurant, you simply need to tweet your name, number of people and preferred time for lunch to @BullittBelfast using the hashtag #tweetseats.  If there are seats available, the restaurant will tweet back to confirm.

Tables are limited to six seats and drinks are not included. For more information, follow @bullittbelfast on Twitter or visit
