Northern Ireland shop staff shaken after raid by armed robbers - cash and cigarettes stolen

Detectives are appealing for information after a robbery of a business in Ballynure.

It was reported at around 6.50pm on Tuesday a man carrying a suspected firearm entered the commercial premises on Main Street and demanded money from the till and cigarettes.

While no one was injured during the incident, staff were left shaken.

The man made off on foot in the direction of Carrickfergus Road in Ballynure with the cash and cigarettes.

He is described as being approximately 5' 11'' tall, of slim build and was wearing a black coloured jacket, blue jeans and white coloured trainers.

Detective Constable Robinson is appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with information which could assist with the investigation, to contact detectives in Antrim on 101 quoting reference number 885 of 26/12/17.

Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.
