Northern Ireland temperatures set to reach 24 degrees as summer finally hits

After weeks of rain and dull days, the weather is set to improve across Northern Ireland this week.

Temperatures could hit up to 22 °C on Sunday and reach 24 °C on Monday and Tuesday as the sun finally comes one.

Sunday is expected to be a dry and bright day to come with some pleasant sunny spells developing. There will be a mainly light southwesterly breeze.

The highest temperatures are expected around Newry and in the seaside town of Newcastle.

The Met Office said that Monday is expected to start with some cloud and mist but will brighten up with some with some sunny spells breaking through and the maximum temperature  could be 24 °C.

Tuesday is expected to be hot with some sunny spells but the good weather will fade as ome heavy thundery rain is likely on Tuesday night and on Wednesday. Thursday is expected to be drier and brighter with temperatures reaching up to 18°C.
