Northern Ireland Water worker targeted by mob
A NI Water employee attempting to carry out emergency work in Belfast has been targeted by a gang of stone throwers.
The incident occurred on Albert Street in the Divis area of the lower Falls Road on Tuesday when a NI Water vehicle was damaged after the mob of youths threw stones at it.
Des Nevin, head of networks sewerage with NI Water, said: “This was a serious incident during which an NI Water member of staff was placed in danger while trying to carry out important emergency works.
“Such behaviour is completely unacceptable and we would appeal to those involved to think about their behaviour and stop immediately.”
